What "non-custodial" means
Non-custodial means your funds never touch roodswap — your wallet holds the keys, you sign every transaction, and there is nothing to deposit or withdraw.
Your funds never touch roodswap
Non-custodial means roodswap never holds your money. When you swap, bridge, sell, or send, the tokens move from your wallet straight to the destination token or address. They do not pass through an account we control. There is no roodswap balance, no deposit step, and no withdrawal step.
roodswap is a tool that finds the best route and builds the transaction. You own the funds the entire time.
Your keys stay with you
You connect your own wallet — the one you already use, EVM or Solana. Your private keys stay in that wallet. roodswap never sees them, stores them, or asks for them.
Every transaction is built by roodswap and signed by you. Nothing leaves your wallet until you approve it. If you do not sign, nothing moves.
Nothing to deposit or withdraw
Custodial services make you fund an account first, then let you trade the balance they hold. roodswap does not work that way. You keep your tokens in your own wallet and trade directly from it.
There is no account to top up, no withdrawal to request, and nothing of yours sitting on our side waiting to be released. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no KYC.
What this means for your safety
Because funds never touch us, roodswap cannot hold, freeze, move, or recover them. We cannot reverse a trade, claw back a transfer, or unlock a wallet. This is the trade-off of self-custody: full control, full responsibility.
- roodswap cannot freeze or seize your funds.
- roodswap cannot move your funds without your signature.
- roodswap cannot recover funds sent to the wrong address or chain.
- Crypto transactions are irreversible once they land on-chain.
Always verify before you sign
No one can undo a signed transaction, so the check happens before you sign, not after. roodswap always shows you the minimum you will receive after fees and gas. Read it.
- 1Check the tokens
Confirm the token you are sending and the token you are receiving are the ones you meant.
- 2Check the chains
Confirm the source chain and destination chain are correct, especially for cross-chain moves.
- 3Check the destination address
For sends and cross-ecosystem swaps, confirm the receiving address is right. It cannot be changed after signing.
- 4Check the minimum received
Read the minimum output shown in the quote. That is the least you will get after the 0.1% service fee, network gas, and the underlying route fee.
- 5Then sign
Only approve in your wallet once every field above is correct.
Nobody can reverse a signed transaction — not you, not roodswap. Verify the tokens, chains, address, and minimum received before you approve.
