Security best practices
The habits that keep your funds yours: verify the site, read every signature, and never share your seed phrase.
You hold the keys
roodswap is non-custodial. Funds never touch us. They move from your wallet straight to the destination token or address. We cannot hold, freeze, move, or recover them.
That means security is on you. Nobody can undo a bad transaction. Crypto transfers are irreversible. The steps below are the difference between trading safely and losing everything.
Before you connect
- 1Check the URL
Confirm you are on the real roodswap site before connecting anything. Attackers clone interfaces at look-alike domains. Type the address yourself or use a saved bookmark. Do not trust links from search ads, DMs, or emails.
- 2Connect only wallets you control
Connect a wallet whose seed phrase and keys are yours alone. Never connect a wallet someone else set up, funded, or told you to import.
- 3Use a hardware wallet for larger amounts
Keep serious balances behind a hardware wallet so your private key never touches an internet-connected device. Sign on the device screen.
Read every signature request
Every swap, bridge, sell, and send needs your signature. That signature is the only thing that moves your money, so read it before you approve.
Check the token, the amount, the destination chain, and the minimum you will receive. roodswap always shows the minimum output before you sign. If a request asks for anything you did not initiate, or the numbers do not match the quote, reject it.
Never share your keys
No legitimate person or support channel will ever ask for your seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does is trying to steal from you. Never type it into a website, message, or form.
Ongoing hygiene
- Revoke stale token approvals. Old spending permissions you granted to other apps stay active until you remove them. Review and revoke ones you no longer use.
- Ignore DMs and fake support. Real support does not slide into your messages. roodswap support is team@roodswap.com and only that address. We will never DM you first.
- Never share your seed phrase or private key with anyone, for any reason. Store the backup offline, not in a photo, note, or cloud file.
- Be skeptical of urgency. Fake giveaways, 'wallet validation,' and time pressure are how scams get you to sign without reading.
